AUDITION FOR OUR
2022/23 PERFORMANCE TROUPE
JULY 19, 20, AND 21ST FROM 3-5PM AND July 20 from 5:30-7:30PM
AND AUGUST 8th 3pm-5pm
Auditioners will audition alongside our Competition Team Members and will spend the 2hrs learning a dance routine and will be asked to sing a 1-2min audition cut of a song that shows off their voice.
PERFORMANCE TROUPE
Available to performers ages 8-18.
Our Popular Performance Troupe is where our Competition Teams all started! Throughout the year, this fun and energetic group will prepare themed medleys and show stopping numbers like our Disney Princess Medley, Halloween Medleys, and Christmas Medleys. Our Troupe will perform at community events, studio gatherings, special events, and our Year End Showcase.

WHAT'S EXPECTED
Students in our Performance Troupe will be assigned certain numbers they will perform throughout the year.
​
Students on the Performance Troupe will be required to perform in a MINIMUM of 3 of our studio events (Halloween, Christmas, and Year End Showcase (YES)). Students may perform in all of our events, but 3 is the minimum required. A performer is not permitted to miss more than 2 rehearsals from the groupings of themed "seasons" from the list below:

Halloween Material: August-October
Christmas Material: October-December
Valentines Material: January-February
Promotional Material Focus: February-March
Year End Showcase Material: March-May
Even if performers are opting to not perform in a particular season of themed material, they are still expected/required to attend regular classes or may be asked to not return to the Troupe or risk being removed from certain numbers and/or solos/duos.

We also often get asked to perform at outside events. For example, the Simi Valley Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. These types of requests are optional but also are a ton of fun and we encourage everyone to make a great effort to attend these. November-December is when we get the most requests.

ATTENDANCE: Performance Troupe members are expected to attend all scheduled weekly classes for the entire season (August 2022-May 2023) as well as the studio events listed above. We will allow up to 2 excused absences per themed season (see list above) with reasonable notice. There will be no conflicts allowed on the 2 weeks leading up to any events/performances!

Performance Troupe members are required to have regular good attendance in our Classes/programs. There is a minimum of 1 additional class/program for our Performance Troupe members. Class suggestions will be given to each team member.

We understand that those who participate in our Performance Troupe are extremely talented and, therefore, have a great chance at being cast in an outside Musical that may conflict with classes. Treat acceptance into the Troupe as if you are cast in a Musical Production/Company! When auditioning for outside productions, students are expected to place our weekly Performance Troupe class as a conflict for outside rehearsals.
**TIP: You are allowed 3 absences each semester. If you wish to participate in an outside show, you may do so as long as you include classes and rehearsals as your conflict for an outside production and use your excused absences for your outside tech-weeks. No conflicts are allowed the 2 weeks leading up to shows/events.**
